Ngày 25/2, Tổng thống Ai Cập Abdel Fattah El-Sisi thông báo quốc tang 3 ngày, từ 26-28/2, để tưởng niệm cựu Tổng thống Hosni Mubarak vừa qua đời sau một thời gian dài chống chọi với bệnh tật.

Ông Mubarak sinh năm 1928, giữ cương vị Tổng thống Ai Cập trong 30 năm, từ tháng 10/1981 tới tháng 2/2011, là một trong những nhà lãnh đạo đầy quyền lực ở khu vực Trung Đông-Bắc Phi.

Sau làn sóng biểu tình quy mô lớn nổ ra vào tháng 2/2011 tại Ai Cập, ông Mubarak đã từ chức và chuyển giao quyền lãnh đạo cho Hội đồng tối cao các lực lượng vũ trang.

Mubarak was born in 1928, held the position of President of Egypt for 30 years, from October 1981 to February 2011, he is one of the most powerful leaders in the Middle East-North Africa region.

Hosni Mubarak had stepped down as president of Egypt and had handed power to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, after a wave of large-scale protests broke out in February 2011 in Egypt.
